What Is The Best Tissue

Content Analysis SESSION PROCESS THINKING

AC Content Analysis (Klaus Krippendorff) is one of the investigative techniques between so-called qualitative. Allows a task of interpretation of the text and to do part of the idea that the expressive nature of human action has a meaning that is expressed in our actions and relationships with others, and that the terms of any kind, provide the most direct and revealing indication of the subjectivity of the express agent.

Expressions can be understood as acts or objects. One of the possible expressions of the human-object is the system language. The speech act can be assumed as an object, such as it is a phrase or a cathedral. An expression-object, the word is, may be collected, compared, analyzed, and this is the task assumed by the AC with the texts. To achieve this, the researcher establishes a set of questions that will enable the construction of questions about the sample (text) and thus can make inferences about the subject under investigation.

A summary of the AC method is:

1. Choose material on which will work from the priority given by the analyst from what he wants to know.

2. Deciding what to observe: Narrow the field of observation categories.
Requires an operational plan and explicit, clear, reproducible.
should not ignore the validity and context.

3. Decide type of unit from which you will register: Predictive
something observable, which facilitates decision making and conceptualising.
types of units: Physical
, syntax (word, phrase ...)
referential units: attitudes, ideas, beliefs ...
prepositional units: question, answer. Units
theme: Themes, subthemes. Procedures for defining
units.

4. Registration: Organizing the data according to the type of unity that has been decided to use.
are needed clear instructions how to get there.
observer characteristics determine the type of record being made. Differentiation is required to observe the code.
Please note the syntax and semantics of language data, ie the rules that command the allocation of units to categories.
Requires:
Create models for managing data sheets.
aid the semantic or verbal descriptions: Action, time, place, people.

5. Data reduction:
Sampling: Select what about what I'm going to work. Sampling
Types:
Random: Choose randomly. Stratified
: segments of a population. Systematic
: Search in all units ..
For cluster: groups of elements that represent
constraints.
Chance. Using analytical techniques

6. Make inferences from data and relationship context.
inferences emerge from the record if this is done right.

7. Validate from stable factors (data) and context.

is important to note that the exercise developed awoke great interest in me and made significant knowledge and experience, as well as issues surrounding research work previously developed for me and even, on the construction of the categories they used (item whose knowledge is quite relevant if you want to develop AC) . Moreover, in a research done by me during the first half as a function of my working life being EngenderHealth International Consultant in the technical assistance offered by the institution Mario Gaitan Yanguas Hospital of the Ministry of Health of Ontario, I was opportunity to apply knowledge gained in the analysis of categorization of texts from focus groups conducted as part of the Needs Qualitative Research on Sexual and Reproductive Health of Women and men aged between 23 and 45 years, People Displaced by Violence, who are currently living in the town of La Florida located in the municipality of Soacha, Cundinamarca.

Other learning acquired during the process of thinking sessions aimed at learning of AC are related to learn how to formulate the research question, to decide what to see and therefore to delimit the field of observation, to decide on the type drive from which you will register and therefore to acquaint themselves with those types, to be sampled from the recording unit, to make inferences and refine the distinctions.

The text of the author Klaus Krippendorff used as support for the development of the subject CA and the teaching of the class has allowed me to delve into a number of issues of great use to define and improve my work as a researcher. However, I presented a series of unresolved questions on it such as:

1 º. The theoretical study and experiential methods focused on the syntactic level, such as the Quantitative and Computational Stylistics, Techniques of analysis of the expression and the Automatic Analysis of Discourse;

2 º. Knowledge and appropriation of the use of a series of computer programs that aid in this analysis and of which I have a fairly elementary

3 º. Even when we focus on knowledge-centered methods at the semantic level and despite what was significant to my development thematic analysis categorical schemes implemented by I would have liked to know more deeply about other methods of this order as outlined in Chapter Seven the book "Methods and Techniques Qualitative Research in Social Sciences" Juan Manuel Delgado and Juan Gutierrez.
